Testing and Certification Service Tepa
Tepa provides the industry with a cost-effective and user-friendly testing service. Datahub certification verifies that market parties’ information systems and data exchange systems are compatible with Datahub.
New electricity market parties must successfully complete the certification process before commencing operations in the retail electricity market. Tepa includes role-specific test cases that parties must pass in order to gain access to the Datahub production environment and perform production business processes through Datahub’s interfaces.
Tepa’s test cases cover complete business process chains. The service automatically prepares the data required for the test cases and acts as counterparty in the processes being tested.

Testing and certification in Datahub
The Finnish Electricity Market Act requires electricity suppliers and distribution system operators to ensure that their information systems and data exchange systems are compatible with Datahub. Similarly, service providers connected to Datahub must ensure that their systems operate seamlessly with the Datahub system.
Compatibility is verified through testing and certification. Market parties intending to use the Datahub event API for message exchange must have a dedicated test system and test environment that are separate from the production environment.
Market parties’ test environments must be capable of integrating with Datahub, meaning they must be able to communicate with Datahub in the same way as the future production system. A party’s system must be certified in the test environments before it can be used in production. Certification is not required for parties that use only the CMS user interface or perform data retrieval activities only.
System vendors play a key role in ensuring compatibility between market parties’ systems and Datahub. Vendor systems are certified before market parties begin their own certification process. This helps minimize the risk of the same issues recurring across multiple party certifications. Market parties are responsible for ensuring that their system vendors take part in system testing and certification activities.
